The Parish of Saint Ignatius, the very first to be dedicated to the great Saint of Laconi, was established in Serramanna in 1971. This dedication was decided by the future parishioners through a popular consultation. Initially, services were celebrated in a private building adapted for the purpose. In 1975, the parish acquired its own structure with the construction of a large hall. The new church was blessed in 1976 by the Archbishop of Cagliari, Giuseppe Bonfiglioli. Over the years, thanks to the commitment of the founding parish priest Don Bruno Pittau and the generosity of the faithful, the building was expanded, made more functional, and enriched with furnishings and artworks.
